Opportunities for M.Sc. and Ph.D. students

at Migal’s new  research facility

in Tel-Hai industrial park


Migal’s laboratory complex at Tel-Hai industrial park is now home to five new research groups that carry out interdisciplinary research on protein structure and function. We are looking for bright, highly motivated M.Sc. and Ph.D. students to join our team.


Dr. Itamar Yadid - Microbial Metabolic Pathways Research Laboratory

Protein evolution and engineering of metabolic pathways in bacteria.

Identification of enzymes responsible for sphingolipids biosynthesis in bacteria.

Directed enzyme evolution toward glycosyltransferases with improved activities.

Metabolic engineering of the ethanologenic bacterium Zymomonas mobilis for extended substrate range.

Computational design of pigment-binding proteins.

Production of redox proteins by recombinant DNA techniques.

Dr. Maayan Gal - Protein NMR Research Laboratory

Developing new drugs capable of inhibiting protein-protein interactions (PPIs) based on NMR and computational tools.

Studying the mechanistic step of NFAT-calcineurin interaction which leads to immune system activation.

Studying the role and interaction of unstructured proteins in the cell.

Developing new NMR methods to study proteins structure and dynamics.

Developing new biochemistry methods oriented towards improved biomolecular NMR experiments.
