Galileo Tech Transfer Unit

 Galilee Tech Transfer Unit

Galileo, MIGAL’s dedicated technology transfer and business development unit, serves as the bridge between scientific innovation and real-world application. As a subsidiary of MIGAL – now part of Tel-Hai University’s expanding ecosystem – Galileo manages the commercialization and industry engagement activities of both institutions, translating research excellence into tangible impact across sectors.

Galileo is responsible for the protection and management of intellectual property originating from MIGAL and Tel-Hai University, including patents, proprietary know-how, and registrations of new plant varieties. Through proactive licensing, commercialization strategy, and IP portfolio development, Galileo ensures that discoveries and innovations from our researchers reach the market efficiently and responsibly.

Working at the interface of academia, industry, and regional development, Galileo operates a comprehensive platform that supports innovation across the full translational spectrum:

  • Startups: providing incubation, mentoring, access to laboratories, pilot testing facilities, and tailored business support to help research-based ventures grow.
  • Industry: facilitating licensing agreements, joint R&D projects, contract research, and expert consulting services with MIGAL’s scientific teams.
  • Academia: fostering collaborative research initiatives, student entrepreneurship programs, and shared infrastructure to connect with national and international partners.
  • Public Sector: supporting regional development and innovation programs that advance the Galilee and the wider Northern region.
  • Investment Community: offering access to MIGAL spin-offs, co-investment opportunities, and a high-quality deal flow of emerging technologies and startups.

Galileo’s multidisciplinary business development team leads these activities, ensuring every partnership – from early-stage research to commercial deployment – is supported with strategic insight, professional management, and a commitment to sustainable regional and national growth.
