NEW TRI-LATERAL CONFERENCE IN CRETE, GREECE
Place:
Hereklion, Crete, Greece.
Dates:
11th of December to 12th of December, 2003.
Goals of the Conference
To bring together researchers and industrialists
from the peripheral communities in Crete, Cyprus and Israel in
order to enable them to know better each other and find common
fields to collaborate. In order to accomplish this goal, participants
need to work together toward a common goal and share their experiences.
The programme:
The goal of creating joint projects between the
industries in each region and their partners in the other countries
is not to just
meet or occasional chat, but rather to facilitate collaborative
work of many content areas from multiple perspectives (agriculture/
agro-tourism/industry). Perhaps even more important, the goal
is to create a sharing and learning space through ongoing dialogue
between the people to achieve a common goal in developing projects
of mutual interest.
We want to emphasis that the purpose of the joint activity
be for participants to co-develop mutual projects that are
potentially
beneficial to the agriculture/industries and their communities
in their countries. This means the projects should allow participating
people in the three communities to learn from one another through
their collaboration and participation. More over, the projects
must contain or enable new kinds of knowledge, as well as the
generation of actual outcome. The conference will focus on
agriculture and
tourism that are the two main sectors of interest in our Mediterranean
region. Researchers from the academic institutes/universities
as well as people from the business sector are invited.
