The general activity of the research department:
Monitoring of Lake Agmon, Operational Reservoir, Reconstructed
Jordan River, Drainage canals and Einan reservoir under the framework
of Hula Project Monitoring Program.
Research team :
Research topics:
- Limnological and general ecological features
of the Hula Valley, including aquatic vegetation, water balance,
aquatic chemistry and physics, underground water table terestrial
vegetation and Avifauna.
- The research is dictated by the requirements
of the Hula Valley managers aimed at providing management beneficial
for ecotourism and agriculture.
- National and International collaboration:
The study is within the scope of Water commossionary and the
United Jewish Fund (Keren Kayemet LeIsrael) in cooperation with
scientists from Germany (under the auspices of GLOWA) and Duke
University in the USA.
- Wetland Ecology and Limnology
Examining the aquatic aspects soil-water relations of nutrient
dynamics, with emphasis on Phosphorus
Equipment and services:
The main service the department is giving is to
supply water quality data to the Water Commissioner of Israel.
Teaching activity:
Teaching at the Tel-Hai Academic College: A course
on reservoir limnology.
