The successful candidate will lead a research project (funded for the following 4-years by The Israel Science Foundation) to evaluate the metabolic cost of entrainment of the endogenous circadian clock to the environmental photic cycle under obesogenic conditions (See our latest publication

We plan to compare the responses of wild-type mice to a high-fat and low-fat diet under several light regimens with different period lengths. Under these conditions, we will compare the rate of obesity and metabolic syndrome, along with parameters related to energy and circadian homeostases such as energy intake and expenditure, locomotor activity, circulating hormones and metabolites, and gene expression levels to energy and circadian homeostasis.

The successful candidate will be expected to produce first-authored papers, develop synergistic projects, and train graduate students in the lab. Applicants must have an MSc. or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., physiology and behavior) and a demonstrated experience in relevant skills, such as collecting and analyzing indirect calorimetry and locomotor activity circadian data.

This is a one-year full-time position with the possibility of renewal for three to four years, pending satisfactory performance. The position start date is flexible, but we hope to employ someone by October 2022.
