MIGAL-Galilee Research Institute invites applicants for a Research Group Leader position in Climate Atmospheric Sciences in the Department of Soil, Water & Environment.
MIGAL is an institute located in the Upper Galilee committed to excellence in interdisciplinary research and innovation, encouraging collaboration across scientific, industrial, agricultural, academic and technological areas (https://www.migal.org.il/en). MIGAL is affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Technology at the nearby Tel Hai College, leading the undergraduate and graduate programs in biotechnology, and environmental, water, nutritional, food, computer and animal sciences.
Prioritized Areas & Disciplines
The position is available in one of the following three prioritized disciplinary areas:
- Micrometeorology, including climate change and its influence on agriculture, communities, and ecology, land-atmosphere interactions.
- Atmospheric pollution, including cloud physics, air particulates and interaction between them, ice nucleation, pollution plumes, precipitation, etc.
- Climatology, weather and/or pollution monitoring.
We seek researchers in atmospheric sciences focusing on the effect of global and regional climate changes on agriculture and environmental systems, with proficiency in computational and environmental data processing visualization, remote sensing and modeling.

Requirements
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and relevant Postdoctoral experience and have a basic knowledge of the Hebrew language (sufficient for communicating and teaching) and demonstrated leadership abilities.
The position is open to outstanding candidates of all academic levels. Predisposition for interdisciplinary collaboration is considered an advantage. Relocation to the Galilee is required. The Institute, with the aid of the regional authorities, will assist the recruited candidate in the relocation process.
