Senior Research Scientist position in Atmospheric Sciences & Meteorology

 

The Department of Soil, Water and Environment at MIGAL-Galilee Research Institute and the Department of Environmental Sciences at Tel-Hai College invite applicants for a joint Research Group Leader/Tenure-track position in the field of Atmospheric Sciences & Meteorology.

MIGAL is an institute located in the Upper Galilee committed to excellence in interdisciplinary research and innovation, encouraging collaboration across scientific, industrial, agricultural, academic and technological areas. Tel-Hai College emphasizes high-quality teaching, while requiring faculty to conduct high quality research. MIGAL is affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Technology at the nearby Tel-Hai College (https://english.telhai.ac.il/academic-category/faculty-of-sciences-and-technology/), leading the undergraduate and graduate programs in biotechnology, and environmental, water, nutritional, food, computer and animal sciences.

 

Prioritized Areas & Disciplines

The position is available in one of the following three prioritized disciplinary areas:

  • Micrometeorology, including climate change and its influence on agriculture, communities, and ecology.
  • Atmospheric pollution, including cloud formation, air particulates and interaction between them, ice nucleation, pollution plumes, etc.
  • Climatology, weather and/or pollution monitoring.

Numbers of Positions: 1. 

The position is effective starting October 1st, 2022.

 

Requirements

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and relevant Postdoctoral experience and have a basic knowledge of the Hebrew language (sufficient for communicating and teaching) and demonstrated leadership abilities. 

The position is open to outstanding candidates of all academic levels. Predisposition for interdisciplinary collaboration is considered an advantage. Relocation to the Galilee is required. The Institute, with the aid of the regional authorities, will assist the recruited researchers in the relocation process.
