LILAS4SOILS addresses the challenging climate situation that affects southern European agricultural soils, particularly in the rapidly warming Mediterranean region. The project focuses on implementing Carbon Farming Practices (CFPs) to promote climate adaptation and mitigation.
Over five years, LILAS4SOILS will develop five Living Labs (LLs) across six countries, involving 24 expert partners, more than 80 farmers and 125 stakeholders.
RegenAg Israeli Living Lab - RAGILL
Led by MIGAL, the RegenAg Israeli Living Lab brings together farmers, researchers, and industry partners to advance regenerative agriculture and soil carbon farming in Israel.
As part of the EU LILAS4SOILS project, MIGAL coordinates research, data collection, and innovation to improve soil health, promote carbon sequestration, and develop sustainable business models for farmers.
The Living Lab operates across 20 demonstration sites—from the Hula Valley to the Negev—covering field crops, orchards, grazing systems, olive agroforestry, peatland trials, and dairy farms. Through collaboration with partners such as GRANOT and the Upper Galilee Regional Council, MIGAL leads efforts to test, validate, and scale climate-smart farming practices that strengthen the resilience of Israeli agriculture and contribute to global sustainability goals.
