After more than six years of impactful service, David Zigdon has concluded his tenure as CEO. Under his leadership, MIGAL advanced as a leading applied research institute, fostering innovation and regional growth, despite highly challenging circumstances. We extend our deep appreciation for his dedication and achievements.

In light of the ongoing security situation, an impressive delegation from Germany arrived in Israel, organized by ELNET, with the aim of fostering collaboration and initiatives in research and innovation. The delegation, led by Dr. Anton Hofreiter, Chairman of the European Affairs Committee, and Carsten Ovens, CEO of ELNET Germany, met with senior officials from the Israel Innovation Authority and representatives from the MIGAL Research Institute.

At MIGAL Galilee Research Institute , we are proud to be leading the first Living Lab of the MissionSoil initiative in Israel, a significant step in advancing soil health and sustainability. The Israeli Living Lab, presented by Eric Benmeir Kozakow, consists of 20 demo sites across Israel, enabling and demonstrating the transition to carbon farming practices.

Agrivoltaics refers to the combination of agricultural infrastructure with photovoltaic installations and offers a lot of potential advantages to improve agricultural yields while simultaneously generating clean electricity, but also poses a lot of challenges since both energy yield and agricultural yield need to be co-optimized. There is therefore a large need for research collaboration between both the agricultural industry and the PV industry.
