Call for Senior Research Scientist in Applied Mycology

MIGAL-Galilee Research Institute invites applicants for a Research Group Leader position in Mycology/Fungal Biology. 
MIGAL is affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Tel Hai College located nearby, leading the undergraduate and graduate programs in biotechnology, environmental, water, nutritional, food, computer and animal sciences (http://english.telhai.ac.il/academic-category/faculty-of-sciences-and-technology/). Position as Senior Research Scientist at MIGAL can be (and mostly is) accompanied with a faculty position at Tel Hai College.


Prioritized Areas & Disciplines
We seek motivated independent young scientists in the field of applied mycology with emphasis on edible mushrooms. Priority fields include mushroom biology, cultivation and production, and utilization of mushrooms for production of nutritional and health promoting ingredients. The position is open to applicants with background in either Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics or Fungal Physiology. 


Requirements
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and Postdoctoral experience and have a basic knowledge of the Hebrew language (sufficient for communicating and teaching) and demonstrated leadership abilities. Predisposition for multi and interdisciplinary collaboration is considered an advantage. Relevant postdoctoral experience is preferred. Relocation to the Galilee is a prerequisite. 
Successful candidates will be expected to establish and lead independent and original research teams, obtain competitive research grants, supervise graduate students, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to contribute to the institute activities.
