Postdoctoral Researcher Position Available
Are you passionate about cutting-edge research in biotechnology and health? We're seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the laboratory led by Dr. Dorit Avni at MIGAL Laboratories, focusing on sphingolipids, natural substances, and the immune system.
Research Focus:
The primary objective of this role is to characterize new algae-based active substances as potential anti-inflammatory drugs or functional food for the treatment and prevention of colitis and Crohn's disease. This research is part of a grant from the European Union Algae4IBD initiative.
Job Requirements:
1. PhD in biotechnology/nutrition/life sciences - mandatory.
2. Proven experience in scientific writing in English - mandatory.
3. Experience and understanding of working in mammalian cell cultures and biochemical/molecular methods - mandatory.
4. Experience working with mice as model animals, planning, and carrying out experiments with animals - an advantage.
5. Working with large databases - an advantage.
6. Ability to work independently and familiarity with advanced research and analysis methods.
7. Good interpersonal communication, ability to work in a team, and organization skills.
Scope: Full-time with the possibility of further training abroad.
Start Date: Immediate.
Location: MIGAL Laboratories, Kiryat Shmona (currently located in the Technion, Haifa).
