Postdoctoral position in the "Enzyme Evolution and environmental and applied microbiology" at Tel-Hai College and MIGAL - Galilee Research Institute, Israel
A three years postdoctoral position is currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Livnat Afriat-Jurnou, at MIGAL – Galilee Research Institute and Tel-Hai College, Kiryat Shmona, Israel https://www.migal.org.il/en/directed-evolution-of-enzymes
The successful candidate will lead a research project (funded by the BARD:US-ISRAEL BINATIONAL AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FUND) to
study fungal polyketide lactones mediate fungi-bacteria interactions: offering a new mode for post-harvest disease management by enzymatic.
The successful candidate will be expected to perform protein expression and purification, and enzymatic analysis. Co-culturing experiments, RT-PCR and RNA seq analysis, as well as GC-MS analysis.
The postdoc fellow will analyze the data and contribute to the supervision of the undergraduate students.
We are seeking for a personal with strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry and experience in RNA seq analysis.
Selection of recruits will be based on academic and research performance, communication skills, expertise and technical skills required for the project.
The personal should have high ability to work across disciplines as well be a team player with good mentoring skills. Moreover, this personal should be open to learning new techniques, and participate in writing manuscripts. Overall, the personal will gain expertise and publications that will contribute to his/her developmental career.
This is a one-year full-time position with the possibility of renewal for another 2 years, pending satisfactory performance. The position start date is by December 2023.
