Dr. Oshri Borgman

I am an environmental hydrology and soil science researcher, mainly interested in fundamental processes and mechanisms controlling water flow and solute transport and mixing in environmental porous media.

Solute mixing processes can control mineral dissolution and precipitation, solutes' migration and pollutants'  fate in soils and aquifers, bacterial activity, and more.

Porous media structural heterogeneity can alter water flow patterns, especially in unsaturated porous media like soils in the field, and impact solute mixing rates.

To study this fascinating topic, I utilize numerical modeling for detailed simulations and laboratory experiments for high-resolution direct visualization of solute transport processes.

With my research group, I aim to use the knowledge gained from small-scale experiments and modeling to improve our understanding of large-scale environmental phenomena.

I also serve as a senior lecturer and Helmsley fellow at Tel Hai College, teaching soil science, hydrogeology, and numerical methods courses.
